One Action at a Time

"A small daily task, if it be really daily, will beat the labours of a spasmodic Hercules."
Anthony Trollope

When I am working with clients, a frequent comment is that there is too much to do, or too big a game to play.

It is true that if you have a big vision, sometimes it can seem way too big.  Instead of pulling you into action, it can almost cause a temporary paralysis as you ask yourself, "how can I do all that?"  Well, if you try to do everything in one go, it may well be impossible.

Imagine if you are standing at the foot of a mountain and your dream future is sitting on the summit.  Are you really going to reach the top in one mighty leap?  Unless you are secretly Superman, I would guess not.

But if you take just one step a day, you will get closer and closer to the top of the mountain and your dream.  You won't get there overnight, but by being focused on your destination and moving forward one small action at a time, all the time, you will be motivated and keep your dream alive.

And every so often, you might even find that your small daily actions build up a momentum which is the equivalent of a hitching a lift on a cable car.

So, what action towards your dream will you take today?

If this has struck a chord with you and you want to find out if coaching will support you, book for a Light the Blue Touchpaper session.
